HID FINGERPRINT

HID® fingerprint readers are advanced biometric devices designed for secure identity authentication and verification. Here’s a technical overview:

  • Biometric Technology: Utilizes multispectral imaging technology to capture fingerprint details from both the surface and sub-surface layers of the skin, ensuring high accuracy even in challenging conditions (e.g., wet, dry, or dirty fingerprints).
  • Security Features: Includes industry-leading liveness detection to prevent spoofing attempts with fake fingerprints. Biometric data is converted into encrypted templates, ensuring no actual fingerprint images are stored.
  • Connectivity: Supports multiple communication protocols, including Bluetooth, NFC, and OSDP (Open Supervised Device Protocol), for secure and flexible integration.
  • Durability: Designed for real-world performance with robust outdoor capabilities, featuring an IP67 rating for water and dust resistance and an IK9 impact rating for durability.
  • Applications: Supports 1:1 verification and 1:N identification modes, making it suitable for access control, time and attendance, and other security applications.
  • Integration: Compatible with HID Biometric Manager software for configuration, management, and firmware updates.

These readers are ideal for environments requiring high security and reliability.

HID® fingerprint readers are versatile biometric devices used for secure identity authentication and verification.

  • Access Control: Used in physical and logical access systems to ensure only authorized individuals can enter secure areas or access sensitive data.
  • Healthcare: Provides secure access to patient records and medical systems, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Banking and Finance: Facilitates secure transactions and prevents identity fraud in financial systems.
  • Government and Defense: Enhances security in public safety, homeland security, and civil government programs.
  • Retail: Secures point-of-sale terminals and improves customer experience with biometric authentication.
  • Air Travel: Streamlines check-in and boarding processes with biometric verification.
  • Law Enforcement: Used for criminal bookings, background checks, and border security.
  • Criminal background checks: are used to verify an individual’s criminal history for various purposes, such as employment, housing, or legal compliance
  • Driver’s License: to check your license status, points balance, and other related information
  • ATM authentication: with fingerprint scanning to to verify the identity of a user accessing an Automated Teller Machine
  • Point-of-sale (POS) systems: are essential tools for businesses to manage sales, inventory, and customer interactions

These readers offer high accuracy, speed, and security, making them ideal for various industries.

TECHNOLOGIES OF HID® FINGERPRINT READER

HID offers a variety of fingerprint technologies featuring varying image capture methods, security features, form factors and industry certifications.

These HID FINGERPRINT READER capture detailed images for enhanced template creation, matching, and presentation attack detection (PAD) and are compliant with an extensive range of biometric standards.

Whatever your use case, our lineup ensures we have a solution to meet your needs.

Main use of HID® FINGERPRINT READER are: access control, license verification, criminal background checks, computer logon, POS ATM, identification

Optical

Optical fingerprint technology is the most mature and cost-effective for all types of use cases.

The HID DigitalPersona optical USB desktop readers and OEM modules come in a compact footprint to fit in most desktop or shared workstation settings as well as a full FAP 20 and FAP 30 version to meet government requirements.

Capacitive

Capacitive HID fingerprint readers are power efficient, well suited to battery-operated devices, and less prone to fake finger attempts.

They also perform well in all lighting conditions, making them a good choice for indoor or outdoor use.

The HID capacitive EikonTouch readers and TouchChip OEM modules are built in a small form factor and with durable materials, ideal for high-traffic environments such as governments, retail POS, healthcare and multi-user applications.

Multispectral Imaging (MSI)

Multispectral imaging (MSI) is an HID-patented technology capable of collecting the most difficult fingerprints in the most challenging environments.

HID’s Lumidigm® MSI readers collect both the surface and subsurface fingerprint data using multiple colors of light from different angles for superior matching accuracy and liveness detection.

Thin-Film Transistor (TFT)

Our mobile wonder, the HID NOMAD™ 30 Pocket Reader and Module, are built with TFT technology to ensure high-quality image capture regardless of environment and lighting conditions.

Low power consumption and an ultra-slim, lightweight design make TFT-based devices ideal for in-the-field mobile identification.
